Computers use languages too, and we are excited to offer a variety of classes for both the tech-savvy student and the student who is in need of basic computer skills.

high school computer science

c# programming - year 1

C# is the perfect first programming language to learn. It is ranked as one of the top five most popular programming languages, and is a general-purpose language that can be used to develop apps and web platforms, and is also heavily used in game development. This course is designed for the absolute beginner programmer. Students will start off by learning the basics of C# Programming and then move on to building a variety of games.

High School Credit: This course is the equivalent of one high school credit in computer science.

This class is for students in grades 8-12.

Class size will be limited to 12 students.  

Schedule for 2019-2020 School year: Thursdays 4:45-6:15 pm at our Conroe location

C# programming - year 2

In their second year of studying C#, students will spend the first semester learning about project design, the Visual C# toolbox, many elements of the Visual C# language, and how to debug and distribute finished projects. The second semester is a comprehensive college-prep programming class covering object-oriented programming, the Visual C# Professional integrated development environment, building and distributing Windows applications using the Windows Installer, exception handling, sequential file access, graphics, multimedia, advanced topics such as web access, printing, and HTML help system authoring. The class will also introduces database applications (using ADO .NET) and web applications (using ASP.NET).

High School Credit: This course is the equivalent of one high school credit in computer science.

basic computer skills workshop

Come learn the basic computer skills every student needs! The following topics will be covered:

  • Word

  • Excel

  • PowerPoint

  • Installing and Using Software

  • Using the World Wide Web

  • Using Email

  • Importing Photos to your computer

  • Privacy and Security

  • Computer File Maintenance

This is a half-day workshop that is offered at various times throughout the year.
